Hey everyone! Just about to spend the day writing as I have a bunch of upcoming writing collaborations coming up, and need to make sure I have great ideas for them.

As a songwriter, I really believe in the concept. Having one core idea that is the heart of your song. Believe it or not, but this can be a difficult task for novice songwriters. I was playing through some of my earliest work last night, and thought, wow really good stuff here, but NO concepts. I need to delve into each song and extract some meaning, and unfortunately, shed the gorgeous lyrics, that really don't add to the story or idea behind the song. One rule to stand by, if it's not helping the imagery, concept or moving the song forward, it shouldn't be in your song!

Besides my upcoming collaborations, I'm also excited this week for my first of the monthly series "Fiasco Fever" to be launched! This is an event myself and the management of Vancouver's newest and swankiest live music establishment dreamed up, in search for new talent. I have some really diverse, super talented and entertaining people lined up, so I know it's going to be a really good time!
